Last year when Whoopi Goldberg lost her mother she said something really profound and it has stuck with me ever since...she said "who will love me the way that my mom did?"...it made me think about my relationship with my mom and my little girl and there really is no love like it and the thought of losing that kind of love is unimaginable.
I've had the opportunity to work with some amazing moms and over time I have developed a soft spot for capturing images of moms and their babes and I only hope they look back at these images years from now and smile as they remember the time.
Even as a photographer, I know what it's like to pick apart pictures of yourself and not like what you see and even avoid getting pictures taken because you feel that you are unphotogenic. To add to that, we are the ones that are always taking the pictures. Let's all make a commitment to break that habit and make it a priority to hand off the camera and let someone else capture the picture - regardless of how we look or feel that day. Are you in?!?!?
Thank you to all the moms that have been part of my joyful emotion journey, I hope your mother's day was filled with laughter, love and celebration.
(my best friend is about to become a mom in a few short weeks - I'm SOO excited for her!!)
My beautiful mom and my baby girl...I love you soo much:)
I was thrilled when an old co-worker (from my Sawmill days!) contacted me about doing a session with her six month old beauty - Venetia. This little girl has the most infectious smile...and oh how I love chubby babies:)
I've been looking forward to meeting this family for a long time and it was well worth the wait! Ava was pure cuteness and I just soo enjoyed capturing her at this stage...I forgot how awesome it is when they just sit there for you!!
I'm trying out a new way to post my pictures and am really liking the look but hating the time commitment:( I am going to have to limit the number of pictures I post from each session and just stick to my top faves - it's going to be soo hard to decide!
I realize it has been a couple weeks since I've posted anything on my blog. I have a load to share with you next month so I hope you'll visit! In the meantime, here are a few shots of my Brookie from our walk this morning...
